Central Motive Power, Inc. is in its third generation as a family business. The company was established in 1926 as a small service shop specializing in carburetor, magneto, and electrical systems for cars, trucks, tractors, and industrial engines.
Nine years later, the company purchased a diesel fuel injection test stand and began servicing fuel pumps. At this point, the company saw a growing need to properly service components on engines used to power commercial applications. Hence, CMP began to focus its attention upon those products and services needed to “keep engines working”.
In 1953, a full-service branch was established in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In the years following, CMP developed sales and services expertise for gasoline engines, diesel engines, and engine components used in the fields of agriculture, road machinery, trucking, and anywhere that internal combustion engines were used.
Today, Central Motive Power represents leading manufacturers of industrial engines and diesel fuel injection systems and is an authorized distributor for engines, services, and parts in the Rocky Mountain and Great Plain states.
In 1998, Pueblo Diesel Injection in Pueblo became another service branch of Central Motive Power.
